Blue waters
2014-06-10 23:28"My Queen, can you give us some clue about when you will return? It would make the waiting easier to bear if we had some sort of idea." asked Longshore, looking up at her. Riptide knew her new found height was the real cause, but she still found it so bizarre to be looking down on someone she looked up to for so long. To make it even more bizarre, she couldn't shake that eerie feeling of speaking to Longshore, knowing that she knew him while he had yet to truly meet her.
The memories of her old teacher did bring back an odd memory. One right before she had encountered that weird blue box in her cove. Back then it didn't make any sense, but as Ebb had said, it smacked of fate now.
"I do indeed." She said. "With a flourish she spread her city spanning wings, Casting all but the palace of Vol Oros into an artificial night. Upon the sails her wings dots of white light began to luminesce. One at a time they appeared until they formed a miniature constellation.
"I will return at the turning of the tides. For a sign of my return look to the heavens. The moon will pass before the Sun in an eclipse. That night the constellation of the serpent will devour the Northern Star. That is when I will return."
As she finished, Riptide folded her wings and started to shrink, releasing her control on the city's magical generators as she did. As soon as she did, she felt her stomach rumble. Her magical needs had been met, but her body would need to be fed soon.
With a bow to her kelpies, the Queen swiftly ran to the blue box filled with her companions. Her meaty, delicious companions.
