Ako's ears popped as she strode into the room. The air felt dense somehow, warm dry and slightly electrified. The room was a study in contradictions, none of which had been apparent from the monitors. The plastic paneling, while very shiny, did not have the sterile feeling of the so called plas-tek she had encountered on Ragnarock Station - instead feeling more like the shell of a beetle or crab, including the tiny ridged texture one would expect of such material. The lighting also did not partake of the harsh inorganicness of the station, diffuse despite its intensity. It was like having the room illuminated by ten thousand fireflies.

The overall effect was odd. The room held both the odd feeling of alien-ness, and yet did not partake of the cold dead feeling of technology and industry. The gryphon wasn't entirely sure what to make of this impression. And of course she wasn't given time to contemplate the matter further.

"Hmm, seems a bit drab in all honesty." The Doctor muttered, putting away the bag of jellied sweets. "Very generic, but of course I already had a good guess about who would be around in this era with the power to redirect a TARDIS."

With a gentle hiss, the door slid open, five tall bipedal reptiles in metallic looking scale armor burst in, brandishing weapons that resembled beetles sculpted into some hybrid of a rifle and crossbow. The lizard-men were of three hues, two of a bronze-green coloration, two of a more coppery red shade, and one of a blue and silver scale.

"Hmm, that's a bit of a surprise, Silurians actually weren't on my list." The deep brown pony muttered. He regarded the blue hued Silurian, "Say, aren't you scheduled to nap for another few hundred years?"

"Be quiet mammal, we require that you relinquish all weaponsz and surrender immediately. Compliance will guarantee szurvival." The blue one snarled in reply, not bothering to specify what the reward for defiance would be.

The Doctor shrugged, grinning once again. He'd go along with whatever course the two decided on, but if the bird was really from the Warring Clans era, there was really only one response she was likely to give.

A smile started spreading across Ako's face as she twirled her sword in preparation of battle. Stretching her wings, the gryphon assumed a combat stance of balancing delicately on her hind legs, left hand pointing her sword at the scaly creature that had been talking and right resting on Hattori's sword's hilt.

"Compliance? To survive?" She snarled, eyes narrowing. "I suggest you stand down, or I will not give you the mercy of a surrender."

With a quick movement towards the nearest one, Ako flipped out the sheathed sword of the Chaotic blacksmith, turning it to slice through the beetle-crossbow-thing it was holding. She took a step to the side as her swing continued, moving around two nervous shots from some of the other creatures. As she finished her swing, the top half of the weapon slid sideways and to the floor, landing with a crunch and crack. The gryphon ended by leaving her own weapon inches from the bipedal's face, where it stared cross eyed at the tip nicking between his eyes.

"And you do not want me as your enemy..." Ako hissed, glaring at the two that had tried to shoot her in the movement, whose shot had missed, but had nearly hit Scribble and the 'Doctor' behind her.

The group had been heading down into the abyss for a good time, everypony(and squid) keeping their eyes open, scanning the environment before Sharpwit broke the silence with his question asked. From her position at the head of the group, (where she totally hadn't been catching a quick nap) Riptide heard the Inspector's request.

"If we move too fast the movement in the water will draw the attention of anything hungry enough to take a snap at us." she said, floating back towards the group.

Flipping around with a small flap of her wings she came back alongside Primeval as the evolutionary whirred her way through the depths. Her tail arcing through the water, she rubbed her chin with one of her hair tentacles. "Still, I suppose I could try to move us all forward with my magic." Should i tell them I've never moved more than myself?.....Nah.

Summoning and releasing her magic, the kelpie cast her spell.. The dark "tunnel" that normally appeared whenever she used this particular spell didn't appear in the pitch blackness of the abyss. The only indication that it worked was the one source of light in the depths winked out. It only lasted a moment however as the light appeared again, considerably closer. Instead a mere pin prick of light as it had been before, the light was now a melon sized globe.

At the accusing stares that were shot in her general direction, the kelpie was very thankful that they couldn't see her embarrassed  blush in the darkness. Still she was quick to give her reason. "Sorry! I didn't want to chance doing that at first. Too much of a chance of us ending up in front of something or in something."

The Inspector chuckled at the kelpie's attempt at magic. Ah, what a silly little fish, he thought fondly. Silly little fishy...

Realizing that he was losing control again, he snapped back at attention, his calm facade under intense pressure. "Ok guys, something is influencing my mind right now," he said sternly. "I don't know what it is, but it's definitely real and it's definitely getting closer."

"Ah-Ack!" Scribble jumped as a laser bolt struck the ground he was standing on, sending a jolt through the earth pony's body. His cry was cut off unfortunately by a jelly-baby, given to him only a moment ago by the Doctor, finding its way into the pony's windpipe. He staggered about for a moment, coughing and hacking until the offending treat was hacked up out of his mouth and onto the floor.

The entire room was silent for a moment, everypony staring at the writer and the jelly-baby.

"...Shoot. That one was raspberry." Scribble sighed, grabbing another jelly-baby from his bag and popping it into his mouth. He turned and faced the - what did the Doctor tell them? - Silurians? They reminded him of the lizard-ponies from Daring Do, and the sand kingdom.

"Now... hang on." He stepped forward and pushed Ako's sword to the floor with a hoof. "We shouldn't be looking for a fight. Not just yet." He turned and regarded the Silurian who had just had the sword pointed at his... her's... its face. "So sorry about that, really. But this is our ship, and we've come to get it back." He put on a diplomatic smile, something he'd been working on since the Llama city. "So, if you could turn off your science thingies, we'll just be on our way with no harm done, alright?"

Ako gave the back of Scribble's head an upset glare, but returned 'The Final Arguement' back to her belt. She held her own sword at the ready, waiting for the lizard-things to respond. While she looked upset, inside the gryphon was sighing in relief. That wouldn't have ended well... she thought to herself, glancing back momentarily at the spot where the shots that had missed her had hit. One had given the Earthpony a good shock, but both had left pretty good dark streaks on the ground. Gulping, Ako quickly turned back around to face the multicolored lizards. Wouldn't want to have to dodge those for too long, eventually even these scale-heads might get a lucky shot off.
