Misunderstanding (author speaking)

Hey gang, I fear that I may not have been clear on the structure of the library. Here's a little description of how I was intending to write it: The Starswirl the Bearded Wing of the library is hidden from the main hall. By using the Revealing Spell, we open a hallway that allows us to enter the wing. However, upon trying to leave the wing with the book, the entrance closes, and our heroes are trapped on the other side. Therefore, while the Jack Harness and Golden Scales are the only ponies on the outside, while the rest of the group are trapped in the Starswirl wing for as long as we have the book. Sorry for the confusion!

But since you seem to be allergic to doing things in a way that makes sense, allow me to address your issues:

Jack and Golden are INSIDE the library. They are not in the Starswirl wing, but the are in the main library area. It makes no sense for them to expose themselves by standing outside where the changelings can take the fullest advantage of their superior numbers and maneuverability.

Far better to use the labyrinthine structure of the library, the poorly illuminated hallways lined with looming bookshelves, the many statues, chairs, desks, tables, candelabras, and other impedimenta to create traps, deadfalls, and other forms of access control to wage a war of attrition.

A seasoned Temporal Peace officer turned immortal temporal outcast turned Torchwhoof elite agent, as well as an experienced EBI officer (with, I suspect previous special equestrian forces experience) would BOTH instinctively understand this.

As far as Riptide is concerned, you are lucky that Zervziel decided to have her follow your group, because it was my initial understanding that she was also going to start out on Changeling duty, but Riptide's last post makes it obvious that she is, in fact, in the Starswirl wing with the rest of you.

To make it painfully obvious: The three Torchwhoof Agents: Black Ops, Silver Lining, and White Noise are all in the Starswirl the Bearded Wing, as is Primeval, who has begun examining some of Starswirls' earliest writings... in an effort to obtain even the most elementary understandings of 'Magic'.
