A bracing conversation
2014-10-18 00:18Jack Harness opened his mouth, and snapped it shut very quickly. He could practically hear the Doctor growling. "I uh... yeah, I've um, got some experience with kelpie anatomy – I – medical, medical knowledge." He shut up again, instead gesturing for the kelpie to take a seat on the couch, which Silver Lining and Black Ops scrambled to get off when they saw the pair approaching.
Riptide found laying on her stomach put the least strain on the wing... flipper... on the wounded limb. "So, how does it look?"
'Exquisite – ack, no! bad brain!' "It, uh..." he ran a very tentative hoof over the fin, noting the way it tensed. "Hmm," Harness frowned, "that's definitely not good, it needs a hard splint." The pegasus frowned, not wanting to remember why he was so familiar with damaged limbs.
"Hey, Inspector, do you have anything to set a splint – a chair you don't like much, maybe?" Harness noted the golden yellow unicorn but didn't comment. Instead he made eye contact with White Noise, who pulled out a small black plastic device and tapped on it several times.
"What?" Sharp snapped, distracted and resenting it. "A... chair? The one at the end of the kitchen table is–"
Silver Lining had already grabbed the seat and begun snapping off the legs.
"... my ONLY good chair." The darker gray pegasus glared at the Torchwhoof Agent. "Was my only good chair. Thanks." 'Well, on the bright side, now you know why it was broken when you got home in... oh my, is it only two hours from now?' "Wait, what!?"
"I uh, I said I was sorry. I know how important a good chair is, dude. S-sorry" Silver's ears were flat against his head as he looked at the evidence of his misdeed, shortly before grabbing the two longest pieces and delivering them to Captain Harness.
