Opening up an old wound
2014-07-30 14:49"I urgently request further information on the implication of Inspector Sharp Wit's possible involvement with the death of this body..." Primeval shouted, backpedaling a moment later, "Ah, that is, the ... um, 'my' near death." She coughed, "I am curious. That is... Please?"
Sharp's eyes widened in fear at the proto-pony's request. Oh Dear Sisters, she knows...
"Well, you kinda...died." Riptide looked as if she was the last person who wanted to tell the proto-pony what had happened. "The Doctor mentioned an explosive (what ever that is) was involved and when I saw you next, you had a rather large hole in your chest. The only pony present who saw the whole event was the Inspector," the kelpie added.
Primeval promptly turned to Sharp. "Inspector...?"
Okay Sharp, you can do this, the pegasus tried to tell himself. All you have to do is speak the truth! There's nothing wrong with the truth, is there?
Taking a deep breath, the former Inspector looked straight into Primeval's eyes. "Well, it's a funny story, really," he chuckled nervously. "Well, not so much funny as ironic... What had happened was that you had been surrounded by some of those Silurians. I flew up in front of you to prevent them from causing any damage, not knowing they had already planted a bomb on you. They perceived my action as a threat and detonated the charge..." The guilt came washing over him all over him, and he found himself looking down at his hooves. "I didn't mean to harm you," he muttered, struggling to keep his voice steady. "I thought you had died... We all did... I want to offer you my sincerest apologies..." He bowed down low in respect.
