Surprise acquintances

Riptide had just gotten done dispatching another drone when the clatter of hooves over loose stone caught her attention. From what she could tell the hooves owners were drawin closer if the panted conversation were any indication.

"I swear..." the brown pony gasped, "This... *huff* wasn't *puff* my ... hahh ... fault!"

The queen's ears perked as she thought she recognized the voice. Sure enough a brown stallion and a orange-maned mare took the corner at speed. What they were running from was answered shortly after as three changeling drones bolted after the ponies, practically drooling on the paniced pair's heels.

Using the height afforded by her current morph, the kelpie strode over the two ponies to grab the changelings with her claws.

The third changeling, lagging slightly behind, managed to evade its compatriot's gruesome deaths by jumping over her lunge. Victory was short-lived as it was promptly grabbed by the elongated arm protruding from her back where a wing once was. The kelpie drew the creature close to give it a wicked tooth filled smile.

However her plans for getting information from the changeling was delayed as the two ponies practically ran into the tentacles trailing behind her as they were too busy gaping at her. Snared in her tentacles, the mare and the stallion took one look at the dead changelings in her claws and decided that not being conscious while being devoured alive was an excellent idea and promptly passed out.

Now stuck with not one but two fainting ponies, a struggling changeling and two dead snacklings , the kelpie stalked back to the abandoned storefront her friends had disappeared into and using the changeling's head, knocked.

Depositing the unconscious bunch in the doorway, while leaving a corpse and a half hanging from a street light as a warning to any invading changelings, Riptide retreated back to the shadows with a changeling haunch as a snack.
