2014-07-05 10:41It was a little distressing for the kelpie that it took almost four changelings to finally sate her appetite, but in a target rich environment with plenty of changelings to go around Riptide didn't dwell on it.
As it was, she was too busy hunting down the rest of the changelings while they were still disoriented and disorganized. She'd leap out of the settling dust cloud onto the hapless bugs before dispatching them with either a bit to the neck or clamping them in the large claws her fore hooves had mutated into. Her un-wrenched wing transformed into a long leg spider like leg with a claw on the end darted into the cloud whenever she heard a sound.
Most of the time it brought back a changeling to be dispatched, but on one or two occasions, the kelpie found a pony snagged on her claw. One time it was a tall pink unicorn who upon seeing what had grabbed her, fainted in the most dramatic fashion and another it was a buck-toothed white stallion who simply screamed like a small filly until the kelpie used her tail stinger to knock him out.
Still it was a matter of time until the changelings re-organized and came after her en masse and if Riptide had learned anything about leaping headlong into large groups of soldiers it was to not to do it, even if she took a great many with her. So Riptide kept a spell to turn her into an unassuming white pegasus filly with a blue mane and tail on her mind at all times. If the reaction the changeling she had first attacked was any indication, these creatures on barely remembered what a kelpie was.
