Getting a Push

The Nurse, one 'Raveled Sleeve' according to her nametag, flipped through the clipboard she had. "As your friend says, your wings were the second most destroyed we have ever seen." She set the clipboard down and lowered her voice.

"Ostensibly, modern medicine says you have at most a 20% chance of ever regaining your full flight ability. But..." she bit her lip, eyeing the doorway and windows. "Well, our worst case patient made a full recovery. We don't talk about it much, but I think sometimes hope makes a difference."

The mare cleared her throat and stood back up, adjusting her hat slightly. "Ahem, yes, well, in any case... your best hope for recovery comes from leaving your wings to recover un-harassed for as long as possible." She nodded, "Hence the cast. At the absolute minimum it needs to remain on for at least a month, but you will need to consult a medical expert before removing it."

Cain frowned, his eyebrows ranging across his forehead. Keeping track of time was going to be difficult, probably best to write it down somewhere...

"In the meantime..." Raveled Sleeve continued, "You are well enough to be up and walking around... which I am afraid I'm going to have to ask you to do." She flipped through the papers on the clipboard aimlessly. "We... ah, can't really do anything else for you just now, and the hospital always needs as many beds as we can get." She smiled apologetically.

The diamond dog, reaching through his pockets, found what he was looking for... a small notepad he had found laying on the ground during one of their travels... 'Perhaps on operatic space-staion? Yes, sounds right.' he mused. he opened the notepad, initially disappointed it only seemed to hold two pieces of paper... and then frowned when he noticed it already had writing on it. He began to read... and his jaw dropped open.
