Sharp shook his head to forget the disturbing thought that had crossed his mind. "Unicorns are the majority here in Canterlot," he told Riptide. "However, the Royal Castle is served mostly by earth ponies, and the Royal Guards can be any of the three pony races. My thought would be that if you want to get close to the Queen's servants, you'd probably have to get into the Castle undetected. Also," the pegasus added as an afterthought, "please try not to eat the Queen or anyone who seems important. If we're to keep the Timeline going smoothly, we need to make sure that any and all changes we make will have as little effect on the current events as possible."

Doing 'Better'
2014-06-17 12:11Ako sighed, glancing back between those she'd been travelling with and the medical staff. The gryphon half hoped they didn't ask about that, gulping as she remembered what the Doctor had told them so long ago about meddling in time.
"So... I... I'll never get better? I... will never be able to fly again?" She croaked out, scratching at where her sword usually hang from her side. The motion made it pretty obvious to Scribble and Cain that it wasn't the only thing bothering her, but to the doctors would just look like an itch or nervous movement.
Changing meal plans
2014-06-17 11:08Ignoring the rumbling in her middle, the kelpie gave a shrug with a nonchalant air she didn't truly feel.
"Very well. It's your throat after all and tracking takes time. Not too mention the Queen will probably be keeping most of her infiltrators near her this close to the invasion." To illustrate, she pointed a hoof towards the shield above them. If the kelpie hadn't been in her true form, she'd have seen the changeling attack force. As it was there was simply too bright for her eyes.
Looking down at herself, Riptide spoke to the pegasus. "Hey Sharp wit, what type of ponies can be typically found in Canterlot? I know pony cities seem to favor one type of pony over the others and I don't want to stick out too much.

Ever try eating light?
2014-06-17 01:10 Sharp nearly yelled at Riptide for being willing to face off against legions of changelings just to eat a little. Almost. But thinking it over, it would definitely be beneficial if one of his team-mates wasn't contemplating whether to serve his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti, and he certainly couldn't have her go after civilians.
Unless, of course, they AREN'T civilians, the Dark Voice chuckled.
What are you going on about? the former Inspector snapped internally.
Think about it: Do you HONESTLY think that an operation of this size could be operated without some spies being planted within Canterlot? the Voice scoffed.
And what of the forcefield? Sharp challenged, albeit half-heartedly.
The Voice let out a sigh, and Sharp swore he could here it's eyes roll in annoyance. The Changeling Queen got in and managed to imprison Princess Cadenza, didn't she? Would getting a few of her subjects in be difficult at all?
And why should I trust you?
Because you and I both know that this is exactly what you would have thought in five or so minutes, the Voice chuckled smugly. I merely brought it to your attention faster.
Sharp paused for a moment and growled. I really hate it when you're right. "Look, we can't exactly bide our time and wait for the force-field to collapse," he sighs to Riptide, who had probably been looking at him as he had his mental sparring match. "There'd simply be too many of them, and too much havoc ensuing to be able to keep a clear head. However, I'm sure that there are changeling spies that have already infiltrated the city. It's just a matter of finding them." He gives the kelpie a grin that looked just a tad too predatory. "But that's part of the fun, isn't it?"
Well, that came out of nowhere, Sharp thought to himself.
Did it really? the Dark Voice crooned.
