Bodily delegation
2014-04-25 09:13"What you are doing will not be sufficient. We need you to resume a ... more compact form in order to fully engage Cobalt. Right now you are trying to squash a menace with your big toe and it isn't–"
The small mental image of Primeval disappeared midsentence. Normally Riptide might have wondered what had happened but was too distracted by the flash of pain that accompanied the proto-ponie's disappearance. In an oddly fortunate turn of events, the pain brought a brief moment of complete lucidity to the kelpie.
Despite Primeval's insistance of resuming a smaller form, Riptide knew that was out of the question. If she became smaller, the water currently blocked off by her tongue would quickly flood the courtyard as they were still underwater. Plus without her the water would start pushing against the already strained structure again as well as the city's ascent being slowed as well.
Still she understood what Primeval meant. It had taken her how long just to find the beast that had practically blown off the tip of her tongue? No there had to be a faster way to battle the creature. Riptide momentarily wondered if there was some way to have Isop guide her tongue.
The thought of her bizarre minion brought a joint moment of clarity and inspiration. Already, the ragged edges of her tongue where hardening and becoming jagged. The center of the tongue pulled back to form a secondary esophagus as the hardened top and bottom halves of the tongue became a pair of gnashing jaws. Behind the hinge, a large pair of eyes emerges on both sides.
Finally complete, the enlarged secondary mouth turned towards whatever monstrosity Cobalt had become now.
