zervziel: Xenolings in disguise (Isop)

"Our village was... destroyed, and ... um, Ako and her friends... well, there wasn't really anywhere around we could go to. So we... uh, went with them. And then later we met this zebra who had plenty of room and was willing to take care of. Oh. Uh, we were just kids when our village was destroyed, more than a thousand years ago, if you catch my drift." The reddish llama rambled.

"You lost your entire family and village in one fell swoop?" Isop asked incredulously.

"You have my sympathies. As bizarre as it may sound, I actually do know what it's like to lose everything, family and home alike. At least you have your sister, I became...I guess an orphan does sound bizarre when referring to adults, doesn't it?"

The disguised xenoling paused for a moment in though before shaking his head. "It's a terrible thing, seeing what was about to befall my family and being powerless to stop it. And the absolute worst part was my...Mother, the matriarch of our family, was too blind to see things properly."

Isop broke off, muttering something about mad AIs before looking to the pony who'd continued to tail them from the doorway. A chatter box to be sure. Still his company was preferable to the ponies getting mobbed at the door. A blue unicorn stallion and a gold pegasus mare, both in suits. If they ever got through, he would see what he could do to waylay the two.

"...You guys never did learn each other's stories." Scribble noted as they walked, always looking ahead and only giving some cursory glanced behind him at the agents currently getting caught up. Huh, they were being followed after all. Might as well check for escape routes too.

"Yeah... the village was destroyed while we were there. And the space station too, which happened right after that." He sighed. It felt like months, but it had only been a few hours to a day.

And, he paused, something startling occurring to him. "The Doctor really does leave a lot of destruction in his wake."

That's one way to look at it, to be sure.

Hmm.

The clatter of the library did not lessen, no matter where the group went. As a matter of fact, it intensified as they reached the center of the packed building. Everywhere you looked, there were books, and there were ponies talking about those books. Scribble was... a little startled.

He sighed. "Okay... Now, where is that Bradburrow." He scanned the area, saying the name in a low tone. He didn't like having to do this. "He'd better have what we need..."
