A dark sense of humor

Scribble leaned closer to Ako, scooting closer so the two of them could chat a little more privately. He understood Ako's problems, and whished he could help her at least feel a little better about being here, if he couldn't help her wings heal. Pen magic would be helpful here, but maybe.... maybe not.

"It's different here." He stated quietly, looking over his shoulder at some of the other ponies in the café. "Ponies in Canterlot know how to forget ponies exist." His expression flickered. "Trust me on that. Ponies are having their own conversations, and ignoring us, so we're okay here. For the moment."

He saw her point, though. He gave her a concerned look. "I bet Atoc and Hua are fine. They're with Zecora, who's personal friends with Princess Twilight. If anyone tries anything with them, they wont get very far before she finds them."

A dark chuckle. "If anyone wants to get the Doctor, they'd come after us, first and foremost."

 "I'm fine, nothing's..." Ako started to say, then shut her beak softly. After a glance at Hunter, she scooched over a bit towards Scribble, leaning in. 

"I.. I don't like how easily he figured us out... especially since he has information anypony could have here." 

She rolled her shoulders, clearly wanting to spread her wings but unable to with the bandages. The swordsbird's eyes darted around, looking at each pony in the room without moving her head around too much. 

"In my time... anything in a public place was only confidential as much as you paid people not to talk about it."

Ako looked back at Scribble, panic evident in her eyes even as her voice stayed relatively calm. 

"How many have seen us... anywhere we've gone? Anyone could have put together some of those pieces... And especially here... What if someone figured out Atoc and Hua are here because of us? They... They could be hunted down to try get at us... or the Doctor..."
