The Doctor peered at Scribble, curious to see what his reaction would be–

When a horrendous shriek of primal pain echoes down the hallways.
The time stallion blinked, many many layers of information sliding together into an inevitable cascade really unfortunate coincidenc–

"Doctor, what is the source of that noise?" Primeval asked.

"Oh bloody..." the brown pony sighed, grabbing the blue pony by the shoulders, "I've got to run, I'll be back, but in the meantime, keep granny here from–"

"Hey!" The elderly Kelpie shouted.

"– from getting into any trouble. You can do that, right?"

"What?" Scribble managed.

"Good enough for me, really sorry about this. At least it'll probably be the last time I impose on you."

"Well I –" The earth pony's head stopped spinning, "Wait, what do you mean by..." However, the Gallopfreyan had already dived deeper into the TARDIS.

The door slid open and the spiky maned pony stalked in, glancing from pegasus to diamond dog to zenomorphic changeling hybrid, and finally coming to rest upon the broken gryphon, who was gasping either from the immense pain she was in, or possibly from difficulty breathing deeply.

The stallion put a hoof over his face. "One thing, Cain. I ask you to do one bloody thing. Take Ako to the Omega room, get her propped safely, and then LEAVE AND LOCK THE ROOM."

"But– but ... the screaming and suffering, one cannot simply ignore–" Cain whimpered.

"She is in pain because the room cannot focus on fixing her because there are too many bloody conflicting brainwaves crashing about in here. As long as you lot are milling about in here, there is no chance she will get better." The Doctor fought to keep his voice even, yelling at the diamond dog would not make anyone feel better.

He took a deep breath. "Alright, everyone out. NOW."

Sharp reacted to the tone, "Excuse me, but we were in the middle of–"

"Did I stutter? Your presence is killing her." The time pony was not proud of seeing the pegasus flinch, "Look, you'll have time to talk before... *ugh* everyone, please, just get out of this room."

"Um, I was already here when she was brought in, so..." Isop commented, not quite sure where he stood in this mess.

"We'll sort it later." The Doctor growled. "Everyone head down to the Foyer, there's things we need to discuss." Several moments passed before the assembled travelers made it out the door.

The Doctor left last, pausing to glance back "I'm sorry."

"Genius loci...?" Scribble muttered, half-mindedly trotting over to the Kelpie and the Doctor. He stopped and glanced back at Primeval, who shared the confused expression he did.

"...It's, uh, supposed to be a protective spirit of a place. Really powerful spirits who protect whatever is theirs."

The proto-pony blinked slowly, feeling as her databanks were updated with this new "information". Further inquiring would likely be required. "And... this is important?"

"Yeah, I-"

"Oh," the elder kelpie came up to the writer, giving him a once over. "You know of the loci then?"

Scribble blinked, taking a step back. "Uh..."
