The injured gryphon smiled a little - although gritting her beak as the movement pained her. Taking stock of herself, Ako opened her eyes slightly before shaking her head.
"I.. I don't think I can, Cain... my wings..."
She nearly screamed in pain as she tried to move one of them, instead giving a strangled gasp as the joints folded in the wrong places. Quickly she relaxed her muscles, letting the room hold her wings. It crossed her mind for a few moments why the room knew to do that, how it could do it without her concentrating, but having to gasp for air drove the thought from her mind.
"I don't think that... that this is something that can ever 'get better'..."
Ako lay her head down against the cot's surface, the harsh reality of the situation coming into focus as her eyes spilled over.
"I... I don't th... think I'll ever f..fly again..."
Quietly the tawny swordsgryphon lay there crying, lamenting her fate. It was the only thing she could do, without causing more pain.
