As the last of the goop slid from his hard scales, Cobalt lifted a sinuous reptilian head, testing the air with a forked tongue that slid over a mouthful of dagger-like teeth. His new flight limbs, an arrangement of skin resembling a pteranadon's, flexed and stretched with a soft creak. His forelimbs tapped against the stone flooring, razor sharp claws flexed and stretched at the ends of his digits. A thrumming growl came from his throat as dual-irised eyes focused on–

The oversize maw at the end of Riptide's tentacle closed down over Cobalt. One muffled scream could be heard before the mouth grinned, the large central eye winking at the speechless witnesses, and the entire assemblage withdrew through the hole the gargantuan kelpie had made earlier.
Sharp Wit shook his head as if to shake the memory out of his head – 'Oh fat chance of that– shut it, you.' "Wait, what about the sea–"
A wall of seawater flooded in, taking advantage of the newly re-opened hole. Just as the travelers found the lungs to scream, the innundation ended, and a harsh bright light flooded in from above.
Scribble blinked several times, observing the deep blue above and– "We made it, that's the sky!" he cried.
"Fantastic," the Doctor snapped, "Now everypony get to the bloody TARDIS. I, for one, have had enough sea-air for today."
The gray pegasus frowned at the Gallopfreyan's tone, "But what about–"
"Get to the bloody TARDIS, the rest'll get sorted, but I think there's been enough damage done today... or do you not even care how Ms Swiftwing is doing?" the Doctor paused, noting that his previous incarnation had a grip on his shoulder and a frown on his muzzle. The spiky maked stallion sighed, seeming almost to deflate. "Just... please, get to the damn phone box."
